Ricardo - Powering FS Teams to Perform

For the 2008 Formula Student event Ricardo will have an increased presence building on the successful debut of our Chassis Dynamometer at Formula Student 2007. Once again these facilities will be provided to allow every team the chance to professionally measure their rear wheel horsepower outputs. In addition, representatives from Ricardo will be present to answer technical questions on all aspects of engine performance. The Dyno will be offered for steady state mapping to teams wishing to improve their performance. This will be limited depending on the level of demand for the facilities. The dynamometer will be operational from Friday to Sunday. Read more about Ricardo's prize at FS2008 and their graduate opportunities.

NEWI Wins 'Environmental Awareness Award'

NEWI's solar vehicle (Gwawr, Solar Car Wales) won the Panasonic World Solar Challenge 2007 "Environmental Awareness Award", in Australia last October.  Described as the ultimate challenge in sustainable energy, the biennial event, which has celebrated its 20th anniversary, saw cars from around the world crossing the Australian continent - from Darwin to Adelaide - powered by nothing but the sun.
Built from recycled and off the shelf components, Gwawr was competing against some highly sophisticated vehicles. Please read more about this innovative event.
